    AFTERWORD

Something happened. A tiny idea became a book. When the phrase Doggie Treats first appeared, it was almost too silly to take seriously. That was part of its charm. We played with it. Turned it over. Laughed at it. Followed it around corners.

Let it bump into kindness, mental health, stress, reward, curiosity, mistakes, relationships, mortality, ordinary days, and small acts of courage. And somehow the little idea opened. It became more than an idea. It became a doorway.

That seems fitting because one of the deepest lessons in these pages is not a conclusion at all. It is attention. The willingness to notice the little thing before deciding it is little. A seed. A spark. A treat. A door. Your next little idea might be bigger than it looks. Or it might just be a little idea. That is okay too.

Give it a sniff. See where it goes. Woof woof.
