That was a relief. I did not need my life to have been cleverly plotted. I could allow coherence to emerge without rewriting history. And that, in a strange way, is also what this book became. A collection of little discoveries. Treats. Stew bones. Arguments.
Laughing fits. Things I understood only halfway at first. Things I thought were important and later discarded. Things that seemed trivial and came back carrying groceries. Maybe wisdom is often less like receiving a complete map and more like realizing that the scraps in your pocket belong to the same landscape.
The music does not have to be planned before it can become music. Sometimes you step back far enough and hear the whole thing. And somehow it works.
