That idea connected to another sentence that had become important to me: I will do what I can, not just what is comfortable. Not everything. Not what I cannot do. Not what will destroy me. What I can. There is a great deal of freedom in that sentence. It does not ask me to save the world. It asks me to participate. That is enough work for one lifetime.
