What You Can Send
Readers and contributors may send story tips, comments, written experiences, photographs, screenshots, documents, video, audio, artwork, and other material that may help SOAPSzone report, explain, or illustrate an issue.
You Keep Ownership
Submitting material does not transfer your copyright or ownership to SOAPSzone. You remain the owner of material you created.
Permission to Use It
By submitting material for possible publication, you give SOAPSzone permission to review, edit for length or clarity, reproduce, publish, display, excerpt, and distribute the submitted material in connection with SOAPSzone’s journalism, advocacy, community, promotional, and archival work unless a different arrangement is agreed.
Tell Us About Restrictions
If material must remain confidential, anonymous, off the record, embargoed, or subject to another limitation, tell us clearly before or when you submit it. We do not want contributors to rely on assumptions about what a phrase means.
Accuracy and Rights
Please do not knowingly submit fabricated material or material you do not have the right to share. If a photo, document, video, or other item came from someone else, tell us what you know about its source.
Return to Principles & Practices
Privacy Choices
You may ask us not to publish your name or identifying details. We may also remove private information that is not necessary to the story.
Submission Does Not Guarantee Publication
Sending something to SOAPSzone does not obligate us to publish it, publish all of it, or use it in the way the contributor expects.
Editing
We may crop media, correct obvious typos, shorten material, remove private information, or add context. We should not edit a contribution in a way that materially changes what the contributor meant.
Questions Are Welcome
If you are unsure whether something is safe to send, ask. A useful contribution should not require you to solve our filing system first.
