Corrections & Transparency Policy
Last revised — August 21, 2026
Our Standard
SOAPSzone aims to be accurate, fair, and transparent. When we make a meaningful factual error, we correct it clearly. We do not believe corrections should be hidden simply because they are uncomfortable.
Meaningful Corrections
If an error changes or could materially affect a reader’s understanding of a story, we correct the article and add a visible correction note explaining what was wrong and what was changed.
When Context Changes
Sometimes new information becomes available after publication without the original reporting having been wrong. In those cases, we may update the story and add an update note when the new information is important.
What We Do Not Quietly Rewrite
We do not silently rewrite material in a way that substantially changes the meaning of a published story while leaving readers with the impression that the revised version was the original.
Requests for Corrections
Readers, sources, companies, organizations, and others are welcome to point out possible errors or missing context. Serious concerns are reviewed on their merits.
Removing Published Material
Deletion should be unusual. When a story contains a correctable error, the preferred response is normally to correct the record rather than erase it. Material may be removed when there is a compelling legal, safety, privacy, ethical, or factual reason.
Return to Principles & Practices
Minor Fixes
Typos, punctuation, formatting issues, grammar fixes, broken links, and other non-substantive changes that do not alter meaning may be corrected without a formal correction note.
Source Material and Evidence
Where practical and lawful, we publish or link to supporting documents and source material so readers can examine the evidence behind our reporting.
Transparency About Uncertainty
If important facts remain uncertain, disputed, incomplete, or still being investigated, we say so rather than present uncertainty as certainty.
Our Goal
The aim is not to pretend we will never make mistakes. It is to make sure that when mistakes happen, readers can trust us to deal with them openly and responsibly.
