What SOAPS Means
SOAPS stands for “Stomp Out App Pull-My-Hair-Out Shit.” It began as a deliberately irreverent description of the frustration people experience when apps, platforms, support systems, and policies make ordinary tasks unnecessarily difficult.
What “Stomp Out” Means
The phrase is not just comic frustration. It carries the advocacy part of the project: identify avoidable problems, document them, make them visible, and push for practical improvement.
The Public Name
The public name is SOAPSzone. The acronym does not need to be expanded every time it appears. Once readers know the story behind it, the shorter name can do the everyday work.
What We Are Not
SOAPSzone is not an anti-technology or anti-business project. The target is the problem: broken systems, poor decisions, opaque practices, unnecessary friction, and avoidable harm.

Brand Promise
The name gets attention. The journalism earns trust. The advocacy gives the work purpose. The humour keeps the project recognizably human.
Voice
We do not have to choose between credibility and personality. We just have to know which one should be driving at any particular moment.
Motto
Serious about the work, completely unserious about ourselves.
