Bill W:
I realized I needrf to be more flexible in the user options in recording. For eg., when I’m doing an instore shopping gig, and encounter the frustrations of having to take a photo of the dam shel over and over, I want to record that, so that others can see the actual aggravation in the app
Chad G:
By S2-07, we had learned enough about how the recorder might be used to stop assuming that one mode would suit everybody.
The Home screen gained a clear choice between Automatic and Manual recording behavior. Automatic mode was intended to let GigDriver Utilities react to the selected delivery-app workflow with less intervention. Manual mode kept direct control in the driver’s hands.
Putting the choice on the Home screen was important because recording mode affects the entire working session. It should not be buried several menus deep where a driver forgets which behavior is active. The current state needed to be visible before Launch.
This was another example of the app becoming less opinionated as it matured. Instead of deciding that automation was always better, we exposed the tradeoff and let the driver choose the mode that fit the situation.
