Bill W:
On my phone, I have a notepad app where i store things like Walmart workers’ names, info about clients, etc. But whenever I do, i have to swipe thru a hbunch of open apps to get to it. For me, having it in a utility app with theother tools i find useful, is such a stress reliever.
Chad G:
After the first development run, the app started growing sideways into small utilities that came directly from working life.
S2-01 added a built-in Notepad: subject, free-form body, categories, search and local persistence. The default General category could never disappear; deleting another category would move its notes to General rather than destroy them.
The prompt repeatedly resisted feature creep. No rich-text editor, attachments, cloud sync, collaboration, reminders or elaborate folder system. The point was to create a quick place to capture something useful without leaving the app.
That restraint is revealing. By this stage the project could easily have become an excuse to build everything. Instead, the Notepad was defined as a small working tool with clear data-safety rules and just enough organization to remain useful after the number of notes grew.
